Job Description:

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the processing of incoming and outgoing mail and packages in addition to maintaining the storeroom and delivering storeroom items.



Essential Functions:

  1. Pick up and deliver mail and packages to multiple buildings throughout the campus, this includes both interoffice and external mail.
  2. Process outgoing mail to determine and affix proper postage on a daily basis.
  3. Receives incoming mail and packages, sorts both by building for delivery - if needed contact appropriate staff for delivery instructions and then deliver. Packages should be delivered within one business day upon receipt.
  4. Ensures that packing slips are delivered with packages
  5. Responds to inquiries or complaints regarding lost mail or packages.
  6. Locates proper addresses and makes corrections for misdirected mail.
  7. Maintains inventory records of the main storeroom and completes a full inventory on a monthly basis.
  8. Receive, unload, and shelve/organize storeroom supplies - this includes checking items against the order and inspecting them for damages.
  9. Fills & delivers main storeroom orders and housekeeping orders.
  10. Returns filled order sheets to the Finance Office within two business days.
  11. Forwards reorder information to Finance for items that have to be re-stocked.
  12. Ensure the main storeroom and mail room premises are maintained in a neat and orderly fashion.
  13. Participates in on the job training for students.
  14. Ability to push and pull 100+ lbs., and lift up to 50 lbs.
  15. Performs additional duties as assigned.



Equipment Used: Computer (Dell compatible systems using Windows), multi-line telephone, copy machine, calculator, FAX machine, scanner, printers, postage machine, cart, ladder, stool.

Performance Standard: Must fully comply with all employment related laws, regulations and standards, and all school standards regarding human resource policies and procedures.

Work Environment: Multiple indoor and outdoor environments around campus with a variety of sound, lighting and temperature conditions.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm with one 30 minute unpaid meal break daily. This position has an annual 12-month schedule and is benefits eligible. Overtime may be expected when necessary.

Pay: $14.00/hour

Experience and Skills:


  1. High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  2. Basic knowledge of general storeroom policies and inventory control.
  3. Basic knowledge of mailing procedures including mail sorting, distribution, and delivery.
  4. Basic computer knowledge.
  5. Requires a Class 'C' driver's license with a driving record compatible with School standards.
  6. Must be at least 18 years old.
